5-8 BRAKES
Valve LSPV operation
As observed in the figure, the LSPV is located in the vehicle framework, with the lever end connected to the rear axle
housing through the sensing spring and the support of the LSPV.
When vehicle is loaded, the distance between the rear axle housing and bodywork of the vehicle (framework) changes, that
is, the height of the sensing spring changes the force applied to the LSPV piston through the lever, getting thus adapted
with the hydraulic characteristics adequate for the weight load.
Vacuum state
Since the sensor spring is attracted by a relatively weak force, the force applied to the piston is rather weak too and the
hydraulic characteristic curve lies low as seen in the drawing.
Loaded state
Since the sensor spring is attracted by a relatively strong force, the applied force to the pistons is greater and the
hydraulic characteristic curve lies higher than formerly as seen in the figure below.
BRAKING REGULATING VALVE AS A FUNCTION OF LOADING ASSEMBLY (LSPV)
LSPV makes part of the braking circuit which communicates the master cylinder with the rear wheels brakes. It controls
the hydraulic pressure applied to the rear wheels brakes as a function of the vehicle loading (loading weight), avoiding thus
that rear wheels become blocked too early. Also, it frees the previously described control on the hydraulic pressure applied
to the rear wheels brakes if there is any failure in the front wheel hydraulic braking circuit, in such a way that the hydraulic
pressure produced in the master cylinder is applied directly to activate the rear wheels brakes.
