FLANGE OIL-SEAL OF THE DIFFERENTIAL
GROUP SUBSTITUTION
Removal
1) Remove oil from group.
2) Disconnect front propeller shaft (1) from its connection to
the group.

3) Disconnect pin (5), nut and washer (4) and withdraw flange
(3).
4) Remove the used oil-seal (2).
Installation
1) Clean the flange and the oil-seal lodging at the group housing.
If flange shows excessive wear in the oil-seal closing area,
replace it.
2) Lubricate lip of the new oil-seal with recommended grease.
3) Install oil-seal (2) with the lip towards the interior of the group
and the back part levelled with the housing face (6).
4) Continue installation reversing removal procedures applying
the specified tightening torques.
Tightening torques:
• Nut (4) fixing flange: 14 ÷ 20 Kg-m
(140 ÷ 200 N m)
• Fixing elements for transmission shaft: 2.8 ÷ 3.5 Kg-m
(28 ÷ 35 Nm)
NOTE:
The nut (4) for fixing flange to engaging pinion must
be fastened using a new pin (5).
