FRONT DRIVE SHAFT 4A-5
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION DIFFERENTIAL
GROUP ASSEMBLY
Removal
1) Unlock emptying plug (1) and remove oil from front differential
group and assembly plug after applying the recommended
sealant on the thread.
2) Remove left and right steering pivot assemblies (see 4A-3).
3) Disconnect front transmission shaft (4) from its connection
to differential group.
4) Remove nuts (2) fixing group (3) to housing and remove
differential group

Installation
1) Apply recommended sealant to coupling face of the
differential group (3) with the front axle housing.
2) Assemble the group and fix it using nuts (2) to the specified
tightening torque.
NOTE:
Install new self braking nuts.
Tightening torque for nuts fixing group:
3,5 ÷ 4,25 Kg-m (35 ÷ 42,5 Nm)
3) Install front transmission shaft and fix it using its screws
and screws (5) to the specified tightening torque.
Tightening torque for transmission shaft fixing
elements:
2,8 ÷ 3,5 Kg-m (28 ÷ 35 Nm)
4) Install steering pivot assemblies (see 4A-3).
5) Fill with oil and level the front differential group (see 0B-17).
