FINAL INSPECTION
Try the vehicle on the road controlling the following:
WARNING:
When carrying out road test, select a safe place where
no man or no running vehicle is seen so as to prevent
any accident.
1) Engine start.
Check that engine runs smoothly.
2) Clutch and speed shift.
With engine running and the vehicle standing, verify the
following points:
• Select the six available gears (speeds) and check each of
them comes in and out without problems and without
scratches.
• Selecting fourth gear, put on the parking brake, rev in slightly
the engine and try to loose the clutch lever slowly. Then,
the engine should act like stopping and the vehicle should
remain. This means that the play of the clutch is right;
otherwise, if when the clutch lever is released, the engine
keeps going on while the vehicle stay still, the working of
the clutch is no right (the clutch friction disc is slipping).
3) Foot brake.
While driving check that:
• There are not abnormal noises neither vibrations when
braking.
• The applied braking force is evenly distributed between the
wheels: the vehicle does no show a tendency to modify its
trajectory when braking sharply and there is no blockage
of any of the wheels.
4) Parking brake.
With the vehicle placed in a steep slope, check that the par-
king brake firmly immobilizes the vehicle when the lever is
located in ratchet n° 6 or 7.
5) Engine.
Check that the engine responds quickly at all kinds of
speeds, without arising abnormal noises or unexpected
vibrations.
6) Noises on body, wheels and the transmission system.
Check that the mentioned parts do not produce unexpected
noises or abnormal vibrations.
7) Meters and gauges.
Check that the speedometer, milometer, fuel gauge,
temperature gauge, etc..., work properly.
8) Oil pressure warning light and battery warning light.
Check that they come on when the motor is still and that
they go off when it is started; otherwise, there is some
problem in the corresponding circuit.
