6A-30 ENGINE REPAIR
WATER PUMP SUBSTITUTION
Removal
1) Disconnect battery.
2) Remove chiller from circuit (see 0B-9).
3) Remove generator and front support (see 6A-52).
4) Disconnect fixings of pipe from thermo starter and electric
wiring (3). Put apart adequately pipe and electric wiring
assembly.
5) Remove sound proofing upper cover (2) and timing upper
cover (4).
6) Disconnect water inlet hose to pump (13) and tubing's
adapter.
7) Place appropriate key (16) between the cylinder (15) and
beam (14) to null pressure that the later apply over the belt
tensioning roller (21).
8) Disconnect electric terminal (12) from electro-magnetic
gasket
9) With appropriate tooling, block rotation of electro-magnetic
pulley (8), remove nut (10) (clockwise) and remove hub (11).
NOTE:
Nut (10) fixing hub threads left wise.
10) Remove electromagnetic pulley (8), blocking washer (7) and
washer (6).
11) Remove screws (9) and withdraw electro-magnetic gasket (5).
12) Move downwards circlip (18) and disconnect tube (19) from
water pump moving it towards thermostat box (17).
NOTE:
If you install Air Conditioner (AA), remove nut from
compressor driving tensioning belt fixed to the threaded
rod located in (22).
13) Remove screws (20) and remove water pump (1).
Installation
1) For installation, reverse removal procedures, keeping to the
following tasks:
• Substitute circlips and oil-seals from the connection tube
(19) and water pump gasket (23).
• Clean screws (20) fixing water pump and apply
recommended sealant ref. 790961 at the first 15 mm of
the threading.
