3C-4 STEERING WHEEL, COLUMN AND LOWER SHAFT
STEERING WHEEL REPOSITIONING
1) With the wheels straightened, which is equivalent to keep
the steering at the centre of possible leftwards and rightwards
turning positions, check if the steering wheel stay in the
adequate position; otherwise, proceed to reposition the
steering wheel.
Steering wheel repositioning
2) With wheels straightened as indicated above, dismantle the
steering wheel and adjust it in the correct position without
tightening nut (2) completely.
3) Run straightforward the vehicle for a short distance, to confirm
the correct positioning of the steering wheel. If the trial is
satisfactory, tighten fixing nut (2) to the tightening torque
below specified and assemble cover (1). If during the trial
you observe some imbalance, correct the steering wheel
position as required.
Tightening torque of fixing nut of the steering wheel:
2,5 ÷ 4 Kg-m (25 ÷ 40 Nm)
