6C-28 ENGINE FUEL AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM
Electric feed pump
Generalities
Rotary pump with integrated by-pass, fitted in the aspiration
line on the rear left side of the read body.
The fuel electro-pump is roller volumetric, with brush motor and
stimulation by permanent magnets.
The rotor wheel pulled by the engine creates volumes which
move from the aspiration opening to the delivery opening.
Such volumes are delimited by the rollers which become attached
to the exterior ring during engine rotation.
The pump has two valves, the first a no-return valve to avoid the
emptying of fuel from the system (with the pump stopped), the
second a pressure valve which communicates the delivery with
aspiration when pressures superior to 5 bar occur.
Characteristics
Delivery pressure 2,5 bar
Flow: > 155 l/h
Supply: 13,5 V -< 5A
Reel resistance at 20ºC: 28.5 Ohm
On-vehicle service
1) To remove and fit the electric pump, disconnect the battery,
the pump electrical couplers and the fuel inlet/outlet pipes.
2) Loosen the clamp which fixes the pump to its support and
remove it.
NOTE:
Prepare an appropriate recipient to pour the fuel from
the pipes.
3) For assembly, reverse the dismantling operations, respecting
the original position of the pump.
4) Check the state of the connecting hoses and replace them
if there are deformities or breakages. Fit new clamp.
