AIR FILTER
CAUTION:
• Place the vehicle in a suitable work place, free from
dust and air currents which may carry particles.
• Before carrying out any intervention on the system,re-
member PRECAUTION IN CLEANING AND REPAIRING
AIR INTAKE (see 6C-47)
Residues bleeding
When the vehicle habitually is used in dusty areas, crosses
fords or is exposed to torrential rain and excessive humidity,
changes to the filter element should be made more frequently
(see maintenance programme). Independently of the filter
changes, frequently bleed the residues accumulated in the filter
case. To do this, push aside the rubber valve (1).

Removal
1) Disconnect the battery.
2) Disconnect and remove the elastic belts (5) which fix air filter
assembly (3).
3) Disconnect the turbocompressor air inlet hose (4) where it
joins the air filter and plug it appropriately.
4) Move the filter assembly towards the engine (A) to free the
air intake inlet (2), turn it upwards (B) to free the bleeder (1)
and remove the assembly.
