Removal
1) Place the vehicle in an appropriate working place.
2) Removal front wheels (see 3F-4).
3) Removal the pin holder (1), nut (2) and the washer (3) which
fix in drag rod end ball joint to the cam of the box.
4) Disconnect in drag rod end ball joint, fitting extractor (A)
ref.600590 as indicated and bring it away from the cam of
the box.
5) Disconnect in drag rod end ball joint from the cam of the
wheel as done with the previous in drag rod end ball joint.
6) Withdraw tie.
7) Before separating in drag rod end ball joints from the rods,
annotate the distance (x) between centres of in drag rod end
ball joints. Such length must be kept when assembling the
new in drag rod end ball joints
Tie rodend ball joints revision
1) Check for play in drag rod end ball joints, by jerking upwards
and downwards on the corresponding rod of in drag rod end
ball joint. Substitute in drag rod end ball joint when play is
detected.
2) Change in drag rod end ball joint with the boot broken or
damaged.
8) Removal in drag rod end ball joints from the tie rod (4).
NOTE:
Note that left side in drag rod end ball joints thread
rightwards while the right side ones thread leftwards.
