Naming Conventions
The pluggable transceiver name is made up of several sections, each section identifying
a transceiver's specific features. Depending on the transceiver type, not every name will
contain a value from every section.
Example:
Section Parts of the Name Value Meaning
A Pluggable Transceiver Type CFP Centum form-factor pluggable (Centum = lat.
100”)
CFP4 Centum form-factor pluggable (1/4 width of CFP)
QSFP Quad small form-factor pluggable
l QSFP10 (up to 11.3G per lane)
l QSFP14 (up to 14G per lane)
l QSFP28 (up to 28.05G per lane)
SFP Small form-factor pluggable
