Prerequisites
If you plan to have a front cover installed on your FSP 3000 C shelf and
will be using cables with MPOconnectors, you must have the front cover
extension installed. To determine if your shelf rack/cabinet configuration
supports front covers and extensions, as well as more information about
accessory installation requirements, see Accessory Installation
Requirements.
When mounting the cover extension to the shelf mounting brackets:
l Verify that you have the specified minimum access clearances for maintenance,
servicing, and other operations. If applicable, verify that the rack cabinet doors can
close.
l If this is not the initial installation of your FSP 3000 C system and the shelf is equipped
with modules, remove the cabling from the power supplies and the adjacent modules
on the left and right side, creating sufficient space for mounting the cover extension.
l Ensure that the cables are correctly labeled so they can be easily reinstalled. Then
remove the relevant modules from the shelf slots, as far as is necessary to install the
cover extension.
EQUIPMENT DAMAGE MAY RESULT IF:
You are not careful when removing and reinstalling modules, as this
increases the chances of breaking fiber-optic cables or bending pins
on the backplane.
