DCPower Overview
Currently, the SH12 is powered by DC power. The power cables are connected to the
power supply input connectors located above the power supply modules (PSMs).
This procedure applies only to the SH12. The SH4R uses ACpower, so
this procedure is not applicable.
The DC-powered shelves are not intended to be directly connected to a centralized DC-
power system. These shelves do not have a separate power ON/OFF switch. Each shelf
must be switched on or off using properly rated double-pole circuit breakers or single pole
fuses, which have to be implemented in the building or system wiring.
The number of DCpower cables needed depends on your configuration:
l 3+1 and 2+1 configurations — Four cables are needed: two for Power A and two for
Power B
l 1+1 configuration — Two cables are needed: one for Power A and one for Power B
l 3+0 configuration — Two cables are needed for Power A
l 2+0 and 1+0 configurations — One cable is needed for Power A
