Chapter 40
Fire Safety Requirements
l Keep power inlet terminals free from dust.
l Make sure that air inlets and air outlets in the housing of a shelf
have free access to the room ambient air for cooling.
l Ensure sufficient air ventilation during operation.
Do not operate a shelf for extended periods without having
l Modules or slot covers fitted in the slots; and
l An air filter pad fitted in the air filter unit.
If you ignore these instructions, dust and dirt enter the shelf and can
block the air inlets and outlets. Blocked air inlets and outlets, as well
as uncovered shelf slots, lead to insufficient airflow for cooling of
modules and considerable increase in fire risk.
ELECTRIC VOLTAGEWARNING
Risk of fire!
If you notice visible signs of the module overheating or related
odors, power off the shelf immediately and remove the module.
