ACPower Overview
Currently, the SH4R is powered by AC power. The AC power cables are connected to
the PSM-AC4s located on the rear of the shelf.
This procedure applies only to the SH4R. The SH12 uses DCpower, so
this procedure is not applicable.
The number of AC power cables needed depends on your redundant, load-sharing mode
configuration:
l 2+1 configuration — Three power cables are needed
l 1+1 configuration — Two power cables are needed
To achieve power redundancy, each PSM must have its own AC receptacle
The reliability can be increased by connecting the receptacles to different
power phases.
ADVA Optical Networking recommends having two power sources.
If you only have one and it fails, the shelf will cease operation.
