Replacing a Pluggable Transceiver
Overview
Pluggable transceivers are hot-pluggable and hot-swappable components. They can
easily be inserted into or removed from the appropriate traffic module interfaces without
the use of any tools, simply by using finger-pressure. It is not required to deactivate the
traffic module when you remove or install a pluggable transceiver.

Required Tools and Equipment
l ESD-preventive wrist strap or other personal grounding device
l Suitable grounded surface or a static-dissipative mat
l Appropriate pluggable transceiver
l Dust cover (if not replacing the pluggable transceiver)
CAUTION
The use of pluggable transceivers other than those approved and
released by ADVA Optical Networking will result in loss of laser safety
approval for the respective module and entire FSP 3000 C system. Only
approved pluggable transceivers will guarantee the behavior in
conjunction with the module as specified.
