IEEE 1394 Interface Cable
USB Cables
For creating a direct serial connection to the ECM-2, a USB cable can be used instead of
a serial null modem cable. The USB cable must be assembled with a 5-pin Type A plug
on one end and a Mini-AB plug on the other end.
The following table details the cable used to connect the ECM-2 to a PC.

IC150/USB/MINI-USB 1036000580

A USB connection requires a respective driver in the management PC.
This driver can be obtained from ADVA Optical Networking.

IEEE 1394 Interface Cable
The IEEE 1394 interface cable (IC300/PSCU/IEEE1394 - Sales Item Number
1036000570) is a standard FireWire 400 cable. It is used for connecting an FD-128D to
the CEM-2 or CEM-4.
The IEEE 1394 interface cable is 3 meters (9.84 ft) in length. The ends of this six-wire
cable are assembled with 6-pin male IEEE-1394 connector plugs. The IEEE 1394
interface cable is delivered with the FD-128D.
Even though some FSP 3000 C components use FireWire connectors for
interconnecting, neither the FireWire protocol nor pinning is supported.
Depending on the location of the shelf in proximity of the FD-128D, there
may be excess cable length. Secure any excess cable to facilitate safe
maintenance activities and proper operation.
