Use caution when handling and transporting an empty FSP3000 C
shelf (without modules). Make sure that no items fall into the shelf
and onto the backplane to avoid damaging the backplane connectors.
If you must wait to unpack the shelf and store the shipping box
temporarily, follow these guidelines:
l Examine the outside of the shipping box for dents and punctures, that
would indicate possible shipping damage. Note and report any
damage as necessary.
l Leave the FSP 3000 C in the shipping box until the site is ready for
installation.
l Place each shipping box in an area where the climatic conditions
specified in ETSI EN 300 019-1-1 V2.1.4 (2003-04) are fulfilled.
l Do not expose the shipping box to:
o
High levels of dust, smoke, or moisture
o
Direct sunlight or heat sources

l Before you move the shipping box to the installation location, make sure that the
installation location is properly prepared.
l Keep all ancillary equipment associated together with the relevant equipment.
l Use a suitable carrying device (hand truck, pushcart, or dolly) to move the shipping
box to the location.
l Store the shipping box where there is enough space to unpack the shelf safely.
l Place the shipping box off the ground no lower than knee height (reduces the height of
the lifting required).
l To avoid equipment damage, do not expose the shipping box or the unpacked shelf to
excessive heat or direct sunlight.
l Keep the shipping box for a minimum period of 24 hours in the installation location to
prevent rapid temperature change (thermal shock) and surface condensation during
unpacking.
