Compliance Statements for EMC Requirements
ELECTRIC VOLTAGEWARNING
1. Changes or modifications made to this device which are not
expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance
could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment under
FCC Rules.
2. The intrabuilding port(s) of the equipment or subassembly is
suitable for connection to intrabuilding or unexposed wiring or
cabling only. The intrabuilding port(s) of the equipment or
subassembly MUST NOT be metallically connected to
interfaces that connect to the OSP or its wiring. These
interfaces are designed for use as intrabuilding interfaces only
(Type 2 or Type 4 ports as described in GR-1089-CORE, Issue
5) and require isolation from the exposed OSP cabling. The
addition of Primary Protectors is not sufficient protection in
order to connect these interfaces metallically to OSP wiring.
The intrabuilding cables must be shielded and the shield must
be grounded at both ends.
The Fiber Service Platform suits the following fields of application and requirements:
l It suits installations being part of the Common Bonding Network (CBN).
l It suits to be installed in network telecommunication facilities.
l When connecting -48 VDC to the DC input port of the power supply, the DC return
terminal should be treated as an isolated DC return (DC-I). The return should NOT be
connected to frame ground.
CAUTION
An external Surge Protective Device (SPD) must be used at the AC input
of the equipment.
