General Power and Grounding Guidelines
l Installation of the FSP 3000 C must be performed in compliance with your national and
local electrical codes.
o
International — International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 60364, Part 1
through Part 7
o
United Kingdom (UK) — British Standard BS 7671
o
United States of America (USA) — United States National Electrical Code ®
(NEC) and United States National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 70®)
o
Canada — Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, CSA C22.1 and CSA C22.4 No. 1 and
No. 2
l Each external power source must provide clean power to the installation site. If
necessary, install a power conditioner.
l Proper grounding is mandatory at the site to prevent damage to the equipment or
personal injury under dangerous fault conditions, such as lightning or over-voltages.
l FSP 3000 C shelves must be grounded. The shelves are suitable for installation as
part of the Common Bonding Network (CBN) or Isolated Bonding Network (IBN).
Follow national installation codes and regulations when making ground connections.
ELECTRIC VOLTAGEWARNING
When installing the equipment in a multi-unit rack assembly, the total
electrical/current loss through leakage should not exceed the maximum
allowable limit.
