Connecting DC Power to the SH12 Shelf
8. Complete and attach an identification label.
9. If required, repeat this procedure for the rest of your power cables.

identification. The label should include the following minimum information
on each end of the cable:
l Designation of the shelf (to which the cable will be connected)
l Cable number
l To/from information
l Power A or Power B
l Polarity of the wires
l Installation Overview SH12 and SH4R Shelves
l Connecting DC Power to the SH12 Shelf
l DC Power Cable Specifications
Connecting DC Power to the SH12 Shelf
ELECTRIC VOLTAGEWARNING
Risk of electric shock, burns, or fire.
Do not connect or disconnect a DCpower cable if voltage is
applied. Always remove power from supply leads before connecting
or disconnecting DC power cables. Ignoring these instructions will
result in burns and damage of the plug/socket combination by
causing electrical arcing.
This procedure assumes that you have:
l The shelf has been properly grounded and mounted in the rack;
l Completed the Shortening and Assembling DCPower Cables
procedure;
l The wires on the end of the power cables are assembled with the
proper terminals; and
l The terminals are securely fixed to the wire ends.
If the wire terminals are damaged or inadequately fixed, replace
immediately before proceeding.
