Read the installation instructions before you connect the FSP 3000
C shelf to a power source.
Rack-Mounting Requirements and Warnings
Ensure that the equipment rack into which the FSP 3000 C shelf is installed is evenly and
securely supported to avoid the hazardous condition that could result from uneven
mechanical loading.
WARNING
To prevent bodily injury when mounting or servicing the FSP 3000
C shelf in a rack, take the following safety precautions to ensure
that the system remains stable:
l The shelf must be installed into a rack that is secured to the
building structure.
l The shelf should be mounted at the bottom of the rack if it is
the only unit in the rack.
l When mounting the shelf in a partially filled rack or filled rack,
load the rack from the bottom to the top with the heaviest
component at the bottom of the rack.
l Before rack mounting a shelf, make sure the rack is level and
stable. If the rack is provided with stabilizing devices, install
the stabilizers before mounting or servicing the shelf in the
rack.
l Avoid uneven mechanical loading when installing multiple
shelves.
l If the equipment rack is on wheels, verify that the brakes are
engaged and the rack is stabilized.
