Component
Overheating
l Keep power inlet terminals free from dust. Keep the
protective cover fitted on the terminal block of the DC-
input power supply modules.
l Ensure that the air inlets and outlets have enough
clearance to promote airflow for cooling. Always have
sufficient air ventilation during operation
l The shelves must never be operated with open or empty
slots. Slots not in use must be filled with slot covers to
maintain proper cooling for all other modules.
l Do not operate a shelf for extended periods without having
an air filter pad fitted in the air filter unit.
l If you do not have slot covers and air filter pads installed,
dust and dirt can enter the shelf and block the air inlets
and outlets. Blocked air inlets and outlets, as well as
uncovered shelf slots, lead to insufficient airflow for
cooling of modules and considerably increase in fire risk.
Skin Burns
l Module components get hot during operation. Hot
components can burn skin. Allow a module to cool before
touching it.
Electromagnetic
Interference
l The shelves must never be operated with open or empty
slots. Failure to properly seal the shelf will result in
electromagnetic interference.
l The intrabuilding cables must be shielded and the shield
