FSP 3000 C General Safety Guidelines and Warnings
Networking, will void the manufacturer's warranty and place you at risk of losing your
authority to operate the equipment.
l Keep the equipment area clear and dust-free before, during, and after installation.
l Keep your work area tidy and free of obstructing objects (such as tools) at all times.
l Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry, such as rings, bracelets, or chains, which could
become caught in the equipment during installation or maintenance.
l Wear safety glasses if you are working under any conditions that could be hazardous
to your eyes.
l Do not perform any action that makes the equipment unsafe or creates a potential
hazard to yourself or others.
l Never attempt to lift an object that is too heavy for one person to handle. To avoid
personal injury and/or damage to equipment, use two or more people to lift and move a
shelf.
l Never install or handle wiring or remove/replace power supply modules during
electrical storms.
l Operate the FSP 3000 C shelves only when they are properly grounded.
l Do not open or remove shelf covers or sheet metal parts unless procedures are
provided in this document. Such an action could cause severe electrical shock.
l Do not operate the shelf for extended periods without having either modules or slot
covers in the slots. Failure to properly seal the shelf will result in electromagnetic
interference.
l Do not open the shelf or modules under any circumstances. There are no user-
serviceable parts inside. The warranty will be void if the component is opened.
l Avoid inserting foreign objects through the shelf openings and slots as this could result
in thermal overload or electrical shock.
l Avoid spilling liquid onto the shelves or onto any FSP 3000 C component. Such an
action could cause electrical shock or could damage the FSP 3000 C equipment.
l Avoid touching uninsulated electrical wires or terminals that have not been
disconnected from their power source. Such an action could cause electrical shock.
ELECTRIC VOLTAGEWARNING
If you experience serious problems that prevents safe operation of the
equipment, stop operating the system immediately
Disconnect power from the FSP 3000 C shelf at the appropriate power
sources.
