6) If the reading is right, depressor (1), vacuum tank (4) and
sleeve (2) are sound, and servo brake (3) is faulty; otherwise,
if the reading is not right, do as follows:
• Disconnect sleeve (2) from tank (4) and plug the sleeve.
• Carry out checking as explained in task -3-.
7) If the reading is right, the tank is faulty; otherwise the sleeve
is faulty.
8) One the faulty component has been substituted; check again
the circuit; if the reading is not right, the brake booster is
faulty too.
NOTE:
• In practice, to carry out a brake booster checking,
press slightly brake pedal till finding initial resistance
(engine off).
• Keeping brake pedal in this position, start engine
and check that with the same pressure the brake pe
dal goes down progressively; otherwise, the brake
booster is faulty.
