Inspect Standard Conveyor Belt
Introduction During daily maintenance procedures, check the standard conveyor belt for bent
links and verify proper belt tensioning. Refer to Wire Belt Splicing Steps on page
125 to replace a bent or damaged belt link.
Photographs Figure 6–19 shows the way to grasp and check the standard belt for proper
tensioning.

Procedure Use the following steps to check for proper belt tensioning:
1. Shut down Aquastorm™ system operation.
2. Ensure system power is Off.
3. At one end of the Aquastorm™ system, grasp the standard conveyor belt and
pull it up and away from the conveyor drive shaft pulleys.
4. Ensure the distance between the conveyor side rail and the lifted conveyor
belt is 3.75 cm (1.5 in.) or less.
5. If the distance is acceptable, belt tensioning is correct.
6. If the distance is not acceptable, remove belt links to shorten the conveyor
belt length. See Wire Belt Splicing Steps on page 125.
