Preventive Maintenance
Overview
Introduction A strong preventive maintenance program is the best method to cut costs,
increase system reliability, and enhance productivity. The time used for cleaning,
inspecting, and servicing ensures consistent production quality and increases the
extended service life of the machine.
Safety To ensure personal safety and avoid equipment damage observe the following:
CAUTION
Qualified maintenance staff should perform the following cleaning steps. If any
damage to the plumbing, pH monitor or electrode is detected, contact Electrovert
Customer Service.
Chemical Hazard
Ensure appropriate eye, face, hand, body, and/or respiratory protection is used
when cleaning with chemicals or solvents. DO NOT mix cleaning agents or
solvents.
Materials required Depending on the requirement, choose from the following materials for cleaning:
• Chlorine bleach
• Muiratic acid (5% HCL solution)
• Isoprophyl alcohol
• 600 grit wet and dry silicone or carbide sandpaper, jewelers rouge, crocus
cloth, or very fine steel wool
• Maintenance log for trend analysis
