BLOWER ENHANCEMENTS
Functional Description

Functional Description
Introduction The blowers used in the drying sections of Aquastorm™ systems generate heat.
Standard system configuration mounts air fans on the rear vertical bulkhead
between the final rinse and blower dryer sections of the machine. When blowers
operate, the fans circulate air into the blower dryer section of the machine to help
cool the blowers down.
To increase the cooling effect, these fans can be mounted in the top bulkhead of
the blower dryer section with an access port to the outside top of the machine.
The customer connects the 304.8 mm (12 in.) access port to an external air input
source to increase air flow and cooling capabilities. This air intake port
configuration provides enhanced air cooling to the blower drying section of the
machine.
The customer is responsible to provide the air intake source. This can be a
corrugated tube connected to an external wall or roof of the building, or an actual
fan installed by a qualified HVAC source. Minimum air intake must be equal to the
amount of exhaust leaving the machine to ensure efficient operation and avoid
creating a vacuum in the system.
Diagrams The left picture in Figure 16–1 shows the air intake port and fans through the
access port installed in the top bulkhead of the machine. The right picture shows
the lower portion of the air intake fans located in the rear blower dryer section of
the machine.
