Check IR Heater Temperature
Introduction The radiant heater heats the air around product as it moves along the conveyor
through the Aquastorm™ dryer modules. This heated air helps ensure product
dries thoroughly after cleaning and before exiting the system. For proper drying,
verify the radiant heater temperature.
Safety To ensure personal safety and avoid equipment damage observe the following:
Hot Surface
Radiant heaters can reach temperatures up to 74 °C (165 °F). Never operate a
radiant heater outside of the Aquastorm™ system cabinet.
Diagram Figure 15–17 displays the Aquastorm 200™ Main Menu, showing the setpoint
temperatures and actual temperature readouts for the system.

Procedure The best time to verify IR heater temperature is after a machine has been shut
down for eight (8) hours. Use the following steps to verify the radiant heater set
point:
1. Ensure the system has been turned Off for at least eight (8) hours and has
reached ambient temperature throughout.
2. Ensure no product is in the system.
3. Turn the Power On control On.
4. Check the system main screen and verify the actual temperature displayed is
equal to ambient temperature ±10 °C (±3 °F).
5. If temperature reading is extremely high double check that the has been Off
for a minimum of eight (8) hours.
6. If temperature reading is extremely low, the thermocouple sensor may need
to be replaced.
