Functional Description
Overview
Introduction The Aquastorm™ wash tank can be fitted with a pH monitor to keep track of the
acidity or alkalinity of the water used in the prewash and wash processes. When
using chemistries during processing, the pH monitor helps in tracking and
maintaining the desired balance of acidity and alkalinity.
Safety To ensure personal safety and avoid equipment damage observe the following:
CAUTION
The pH monitor tip must remain moist at all times. The pH monitor unit ships with
the blue plastic cap in place. DO NOT removed the blue plastic cap until the lower
end of the pH monitor is immersed in water. DO NOT lose the blue tip. It must be
replaced whenever the tank water is drained to avoid compromising pH monitor
operation.
Diagram Figure 8–1 shows the pH monitor unit with buffer solution cap in place.

Operation As water and chemistries flow through the wash tank, the pH monitor senses the
pH level of the water. The Aquastorm™ system main screen displays the pH level
set point and the actual reading. If necessary, high/low level set point deviations
can be configured for the pH level. This set point information can further be
configured to initiate an alarm condition.
