Overview

Maintenance Schedule Refer to the following maintenance schedule to ensure proper machine and option
operation.
Procedure Perform the following routine maintenance
1. Clean the pH electrode of coatings:
Soft coatings: vigorous stirring, directed spray of applicable detergent or chlo-
rine bleach. Rinse electrode tip in clean water after cleaning.
Hard coatings: use the least harsh chemical to remove the contaminant within
two (2) minutes, i.e. remove calcium carbonate with 5% HCL (muriatic acid)
solution.
Oily/Organic coating: use detergent or solvent that does not attack electrode
composition, i.e. isopropyl alcohol.
ORP electrode surface (platinum rod): gently sand with 600 grit wet sandpa-
per and dry silicone or carbide sandpaper, jewelers rouge, crocus cloth, or
very fine steel wool.
2. Inspect for damage.
Safety To ensure personal safety and avoid equipment damage observe the following:
CAUTION
If a pH monitor fails to operate properly or is damaged, ensure a qualified
maintenance engineer performs the check out procedure.
ATTENTION
If a replacement pH monitor is required contact Electrovert customer support.
Weekly Maintenance — Every 40 hours of Operation
Cleaning Procedure Reference
Whenever water tank is emptied, ensure
electrode tip is placed in pH 4.0 buffer solution
to avoid drying out.
Thoroughly inspect electrode and tip for
coatings or surface buildup and remove as
necessary.
