18.3 Spitting
Fault Cause Solution
No spit operation The waiting time may be set too
long, i. e. the actual print pause is
never as long as the waiting time
set in the spit menu.
Adjust the "Waiting time" setting
in the spit menu to the actual
print pause!
The m600 basic is not set to OK. Spitting is only possible if the
m600 basic is set to OK.
18.4 Cartridge
Fault Cause Solution
The "Ink empty"
alarm is not
shown at output
3
The "Ink empty" alarm for output
3 is not activated.
Activate the ink alarm in the "Car-
tridges" menu.
The "Ink empty"
alarm is not
shown but the
cartridge does
not print any
more
The wrong cartridge size may
have been selected in the "Car-
tridges" menu.
Please check the settings in the
"Cartridges" menu and correct if
necessary.
The ink alarm
continues to be
shown even after
a new cartridge
has been insert-
ed.
The ink level was not reset when
the cartridge was changed.
Reset the ink level in the "Change
cartridge" menu.
18.5 Operator control
Fault Cause Solution
Not all m600
basic menus
can be selected
The user who has logged in does
not have sufficient user rights.
Log on stating an appropriate
user. To this effect, see Chapter
11.
The wrong dialog
language is dis-
played
The wrong operator language has
been selected.
Set the required language in the
system settings.
The keyboard
does not respond
when the keys
are pressed.
Unknown. Switch off the m600 basic and
then switch it on again to restart
the system.
