Table 62: Cabinet Installations
l The shelves should be mounted in an open equipment rack whenever possible.
l Ensure that the rack is constructed to support the weight and dimensions of the shelf
you are installing.
l When installing the SH12, ensure that the weight of the shelf does not make the rack
unstable.
If you are installing the shelf in a cabinet, air flow holes may need to
be present on the cabinet's front door and back side. Having the air
flow holes present is necessary to support proper shelf airflow and
cooling.
EQUIPMENT DAMAGE MAY RESULT IF:
A SH4R is installed in a two-post rack. The depth and weight of a
populated shelf may cause structural and mounting bracket damage,
as well as its instability may cause it to fall and become damaged.
The SH4R must only be installed in a four-post rack.
The FSP 3000 C shelves can be mounted in a rack that provides holes or hole patterns
spaced at 1U (44.45 mm/1.75 in.) increments. The mounting brackets are designed to
support that spacing.
