No gaps are required between shelves in a rack configuration. The
only exception is if you want to install an FSP 3000R7 shelf
(specifically SH9HU or SH7HU) above an SH4R. In that scenario, a
1U gap is needed between the shelves.
CAUTION
To ensure adequate cooling of the modules in the shelf, an unobstructed
space of approximately 5 cm (2.0 in.) must be provided around the
ventilation openings of each shelf. Blocked ventilation openings lead to
considerable increase in risk of fire.
