There are two different ways to determine if the scanner is picked up: Touch and Touch Plus.
• Touch - The scanner touch sensors in the handle detect when the scanner is physically held. For proper
hand placement see Figure 2, Hand-held Touch Zones (Toggle Between Hand-held and Hands-free
Modes) on page 30.
Select this option if you want the scanner to remain in hands-free presentation mode when picked up by its
head or base (i.e., avoiding the hand-held touch zones). This option may be desirable to quickly scan
multiple items in a basket or shopping cart.
• Touch Plus (default) - The scanner touch and motion sensors detect when the scanner is physically held
or when the scanner moves. The scanner reacts on whichever occurs first. When neither touch nor motion
are detected, the scanner returns to hands-free mode.
Select this option if you want the scanner to switch to hand-held trigger mode however it is picked up.
NOTE: When the scanner is picked up it automatically switches into hand-held trigger mode.
