ECM-2
Overview
The element controller module (ECM-2) is the shelf controller module, supporting the
internal and external communication of the SH12 and SH4R shelves. All modules are
monitored and controlled by the ECM-2. Each module is connected to internal shelf
communications links on the backplane which enables data exchange with the ECM-2s.
The ECM-2s are installed in the two half-size slots of the SH12 and SH4R shelves.

The shelf interconnect ports are supported in a future release.
