Export Raw Spectrum
The MCA raw spectrum count data can be exported to Excel format. This includes counts in
all channels (it does not include the active ROIs). To export the raw spectrum data, select
Export Raw Spectrum from the Save Results button on the menu bar. A dialog box similar
to the Save Spectrum dialog box will appear (as shown in Figure 13-13), but the file
extension will be .xls.
Note: It is recommended that the Save as type: is not changed from MCA Spectra (*.xls)
Save MCA Settings
In order to store the MCA settings for later retrieval and use, select Save Settings from the
Save Results button on the menu bar. A dialog box similar to the Save Spectrum dialog box
will appear (as shown in Figure 13-13), but the file extension will be .set.
Input the desired file name for the settings. The default folder is C:\Captus4000e\Data. To
save the data to another folder, browse to the desired location, then input the file name. To
save the settings, select the Save button.
Note: It is recommended that the Save as type: is not changed from MCA Settings Files
(*.set)
The MCA settings, such as voltage, gain, zero, threshold, and defined ROIs will be stored in
the file.
Recall MCA Settings
To retrieve stored MCA settings, select Load Previous Settings from the Load Previous
button on the menu bar. A dialog box similar to the Load Spectrum dialog box will appear (as
shown in
Figure 13-14), but the file extension will be .set.
Select the desired settings file from the list. The default folder is C:\Captus4000e\Data. To
load a spectrum from a different folder, browse to the desired location, and then select the
file name. To load the settings, select the Open button.
Save Counting Setup
The counting setup parameters can be saved without saving the calibration settings (such as
voltage, gain, zero, threshold) so that the “Out of Calibrationmessage window will not
appear.
In order to store the Counting Setup for later retrieval and use, select Save Counting Setup
from the Save Results button on the menu bar. A dialog box similar to the Save Spectrum
dialog box will appear (as shown in Figure 13-13), but the file extension will be .csu.
Input the desired file name for the settings. The default folder is C:\Captus4000e\Data. To
save the data to another folder, browse to the desired location, then input the file name. To
save the settings, select the Save button.
