3. Removal of bearing cover No. 1
D Remove the external casing at the driving end.
D Remove the upper part of the oil baffle and protect slinger rings on crankshaft.
⇒ Loosen the nuts for the waisted studs hydraulically and place tool 94110.
⇒ Lift bearing cover 3 over the waisted studs using manual ratchets H
1
and H
2
connected with lifting lug 94116b.
⇒ Mount manual ratchet H
3
and use it to pull the bearing cover towards exhaust
side until it hangs vertically.
⇒ Place the bearing cover on wooden underlay ’HU’ in order not to damage the
fitted upper bearing shell 4 and the seating surfaces of the bearing cover.
