4. Loosening the stud of top end bearing
Remark: For loosening the studs always follow
the sequence shown in Fig. ’D’ i.e. a+a and b+b
⇒ Clean the threads of studs 1 as well as th
area around nuts 2.
⇒ Place pre-tensioning jacks 94315 diago
nally onto the studs as shown in Fig. ’D’, an
completely screw them on with opened ven
screw 7 until there is only little or no clear
ance at ’x’ (Fig. ’E’).
⇒ Turn back the pre-tensioning jacks by abou
½ turn (gap ’SA’ in Fig. ’E’).
⇒ Connect the pre-tensioning jacks to hy
draulic unit 94942 as shown in Fig. ’D’.
⇒ Actuate the hydraulic unit till bubble-free o
flows out through the vent screws. Clos
vent screws.
⇒ Actuate the hydraulic unit up to about 153
bar and keep pressure constant.
Pistons 8 of the pre-tensioning jacks must neve
exceed the red limiting grooves ’BN’ (Fig. ’E’).
⇒ Screw back nuts 2 by one turn, using roun
bar ’RS’.
⇒ Release pressure to ’0’ at the hydraulic un
and then remove pre-tensioning jacks.
⇒ Proceed in the same manner for the secon
pair of the connecting rod studs.
