1.2 Lifting the crosshead with removed piston
⇒ Loosen and remove all four nuts 4 of the connecting rod studs to top end bea-
ring as instructed in 3303−1.
⇒ Fasten stop plate 94370h to bearing cover 5 and guide shoe 6.
⇒ Fasten lifting plate 94324 to crosshead pin 3 with the nuts of the screwed con-
nection for the piston rod foot.
⇒ Connect the engine crane to lifting plate and then lift crosshead pin beyond
the lower bores in guide ways 9 provided for the retaining pins.
⇒ Insert four retaining pins 94323 into the guide ways as shown in Fig. ’C’.
⇒ Carefully relieve the engine crane till the guide shoes come to rest on the re-
taining pins.
If, however, not all retaining pins touch the guide shoes, turn them such that
their eccentrics contact the guide shoes.
⇒ Disconnect the engine crane.
