Measure the bearing clearance again and compare the two measurements. If the
clearance is within the limits (including allowable wear, see 0330−1) the bearing
can be reused.
The crank deflection should be measured when new bearing shells have been
fitted.
After assembly, check if lubricating oil is supplied to the main bearing with the oil
pump in operation!
