optional.
• Weight: The patient’s weight. If the system is set to Curie Mode, the weight is input
in pounds (20 to 999). If the system is set to Becquerel Mode, the weight is input in
kilograms (9 to 450). This field is optional.
• Body Type: The body type which best describes the patient. The Body Types are:
o Adult Male
o Adult Female
o Child 1 Year
o Child 10 Years
5. Route.
The Route can be:
• Inhalation
• Ingestion
Inhalation is the default. To change the Route, select the appropriate radio button.
6. Absorption Type.
Absorption type can be:
• Slow
• Medium
• Fast
The default absorption type for the selected isotope will be automatically selected. Only
the allowed absorption types will be enabled as listed below:
• I-131:........ Fast absorption only
• Cs-137: .... Fast absorption only
• Co-60: ...... Medium absorption is the default. Slow is also allowed.
• Ir-192: ...... Fast absorption is the default. Slow and medium are also allowed.
7. Organ.
The organ to be measured will be displayed according to the Route and Isotope. For I-
131, the Thyroid will always be the organ to be measured. For the other isotopes, if the
Route is Inhalation, the organ is the Center of Lungs. If the Route is Ingestion, the organ
is the Stomach.
8. To make any changes in the Measurement Information section (Isotope, Screening
Level, Route, and Absorption Type) specific to this patient, select the Change Setup
Values button.
9. To make any changes in the General Information section (Probe Distance or Counting
Time) specific to this patient, select the Change Setup Values button.
