13.3 OPCOM3500E-EOP8FX
13.3.1 Appearance and functions
Appearance
Function
The OPCOM3500E-EOP8FX is an optical interface EoP card used by the iTN2100.
Perform long-distance transmission of Ethernet data by using E1 lines.
Encapsulate Ethernet data from the FE optical interface on the front panel into EoP
signals and mapping them to E1 lines. In the opposite direction, de-encapsulate EoP
signals of E1 lines to Ethernet data and transmit them to the FE optical interface on the
front panel.
Provide eight 100 Mbit/s SFP optical interfaces on the front panel.
Support E1 framed mode.
Support local internal loopback, local external loopback, and remote external loopback on
the E1 interface.
Support E1 BERT.
Support E1 interface alarm/
Support complete Ethernet interface functions, such as Ethernet interface statistics.
Support the Generic Framing Procedure (GFP) Ethernet encapsulation mode.
Support 8 VCGs performing reverse multiplexing. Each VCG supports up to 16-way E1
signals. 8 VCGs support up to 32-way E1 signals.
Support the RC-Link protocol, which can be used to manage RC family transceivers
remotely.
Support DDM of the SFP optical module.
Support ALS.
Support abundant network management functions, such as managing the remote protocol
convertor or the transceiver connected to the protocol convertor through E1 in-band
network management mode.
Support complete alarm and performance monitoring functions.
Support upgrading the card software online.
Support querying default configurations.
Support hot swapping.
13.3.2 Slots
The OPCOM3500E-EOP8FX can be plugged into slots 15 and 812 on the iTN2100.
