Appearance
Function
The OPCOM3500E-3DS3/E3 is a DS3/E3 service card on the iTN2100.
Support service interconnection with the RC802-DS3E3.
Provide 3 groups of DS3/E3 interfaces. Each group has an optical interface, a TX
electrical interface, and a RX electrical interface). You can set the interface to DS3 or
E3 mode, or enable or disable an interface through software.
Support three modes: SDH, 1+1 convert, OPT modem, which can be set through DIP
switches:
SDH mode: in RX direction, the card maps DS3/E3 signals received from the DS3/E3
interface to the VC3 of SDH signals for cross connection and aggregation by the
aggregation card; in TX direction, the card demaps VC3 from the aggregation card, and
then outputs it to the DS3/E3 interface.
1+1 convert mode: this mode has two protection modes: mode 1 and mode 2.
In mode 1, the first two electrical interfaces are in line protection mode for each other,
and the third electrical or optical interface works as the signal terminal. In mode 2, the
first two optical interfaces are in line protection mode for each other, and the third
electrical or optical interface works as the signal terminal.
In RX direction, the first two DS3/E3 interfaces are in protection mode for each other,
and they forward DS3/E3 signals received from the primary DS3/E3 interface to the
third DS3/E3 interface; the slave interface is for protection only. In TX direction, the
card forwards DS3/E3 signals received from the third DS3/E3 interface to the primary
DS3/E3 interface which with the salve DS3/E3 interface are in protection mode for each
other.
OPT modem mode: three ways of OPT modem work independently.
In RX direction, the card forwards DS3/E3 signals received from the DS3/E3 optical
interface to the corresponding DS3/E3 electrical interface. In TX direction, the card
forwards DS3/E3 signals from the DS3/E3 electrical interface to the corresponding
DS3/E3 optical interface.
Support DS3 loopback detection.
Support E3 loopback detection.
Support BERT.
Support complete alarm and performance monitoring.
Support hot swapping.
15.12.2 Slots
The OPCOM3500E-3DS3/E3 can be plugged into slots 15 and 812 on the iTN2100.
