CLI Introduction
51.1 Overview
This chapter introduces the Command Line Interface (CLI) of the OLT. It describes how to access and
use commands in the CLI and how commands are documented in this guide.
51.2 Accessing the CLI
Use any of the following methods to access the CLI.
51.2.1 Console Port
1 Connect your computer to the console port on the OLT using the appropriate cable (See Section 1.4.2
on page 37 for console cable details).
2 See Section 1.4.3 on page 38 for terminal emulation software settings to use for access.
3 Press [ENTER] to go to the login prompt.
51.2.2 Local Telnet
1 Connect your computer to the MGMT port.
2 Open a Telnet session to the OLT’s out-of-band MGMT port IP address.
Make sure your computer IP address is in the same subnet, unless you are accessing the OLT through
one or more routers.
51.2.3 Remote Telnet
1 Connect to the OLT through an uplink or GE port.
2 Open a Telnet session to the OLT’s in-band management IP address.
