Chapter 98 Port Protection Switching
OLT2406 User’s Guide
692
The following section lists the commands for this feature.
98.3 Downlink Port Protection Switching
The downlink port protection switching feature creates a working path (active port) and backup path
(backup port) for downlink traffic.
Put downlink PON (GPON) ports into active and backup pairs. Normally, the downlink traffic uses the
working path (traffic is sent out the active port). When the active port is down, the OLT sends out
packets using the backup path (traffic is sent out the backup port).
Table 366 Uplink Port Protection Switching Commands
COMMAND DESCRIPTION M P
show protect-switch msc
Displays MSC uplink port protection switching
configuration. See Section 97.3 on page 689 for
information about the port-level protection
switching.
E 3
protect-switch msc group <1|2|3>
accessport [ge-<slot>-<port>]
[...]
Assigns the downlink (Gigabit Ethernet or PON)
access ports for the specified MSC protection
group. You can assign each access port to one
protection group.
C13
protect-switch msc group <1|2|3>
activeport msc-<slot>-<port>
Changes the current active port in the specified
MSC protection group. Meaning it sets through
which of the protection group’s uplink ports the
MSC forwards uplink traffic.
Note the “show protect-switch msc”
command only shows configuration, not current
status.
Suppose you set msc-1-1 as the group’s active
uplink port and msc-1-2 as the backup uplink
port, then use the command “activeport
msc-1-2”.
The “show protect-switch msc” command
shows msc-1-1 as the group’s active uplink port
and msc-1-2 as the backup uplink port but
uplink traffic is sent to msc-1-2.
C13
protect-switch msc group <1|2|3>
enable
Turns on the specified MSC protection group. C 13
protect-switch msc group <1|2|3>
msc-<slot>-<port> msc-<slot>-
<port>
Assigns the specified MSC protection group’s
active and backup uplink port members.
C13
no protect-switch msc group <1|2|3>
Deletes the specified MSC protection group
configuration.
C13
no protect-switch msc group <1|2|3>
accessport [ge-<slot>-<port>]
[...]
Removes the specified access port
configuration from the specified MSC protection
group (or all of the protection group’s access
ports if you do not specify any).
C13
no protect-switch msc group <1|2|3>
enable
Turns off the specified MSC protection group. C 13
no protect-switch msc group all
Removes all of the MSC protection groups. C 13
