6 Repeat steps 4 and 5 to attach the second mounting bracket on the other side of the rack.
2.3.3 Connecting the OLT Frame Grounds
Frame grounds help protect against lightning and interference functions. Use M4 machine screws with
suitable lock washers to attach the frame ground cable to the OLT. The other end must be securely
fastened to the chassis ground with a lug and screw arrangement of M3.5 or greater.
• The OLT frame grounds are on the upper right corner of the front panel.
• Connect the frame grounds to a building’s protective earthing terminals using a green-and-yellow
frame ground wire.
Note: Qualified service personnel must confirm that the protective earthing terminal of the
building is a valid terminal.
• The minimum diameter of the screw type is 3.5mm.
Warning! Connect the frame grounds before you connect any other
cables or wiring.

2.4 Installing Management and Line Cards
Use the following procedure to install the management switching cards and line cards in the chassis.
1 Loosen the two thumbscrews holding the slot cover.
2 Remove the slot cover.
3 Grasp the center of the front panel of the card with one hand and place the other hand under the card
to support it. Insert the card halfway into the slot and spread the two ejector levers outward. Make sure
the ejector levers are perpendicular to the front panel.
4 Slide the card into the slot until it makes contact with the backplane and push the two ejector levers
firmly until they are flush with the front panel.
