42.7 Simulation
Use this screen to start or stop a DHCP client test to simulate how an ONT gets IP address information
from the DHCP server.
Click IP Application > DHCP in the navigation panel, then click the Simulation link In the DHCP Status
screen that displays.

The following table describes the labels in this screen.

LABEL DESCRIPTION
Select a slot from the first drop-down list.
Select the ONT that you want to test from the third dropdown list. If you forget the ONT ID of the
ONT that you want to show here, go to the Advanced Application > ONT Quick Setup screen to
check.
Mode Select Start to start a DHCP client test to simulate an ONT getting IP address information from the
DHCP server. Otherwise, select Stop to stop the DHCP client test.
vlan(*) Enter the Service Node Interface (SNI) SVID on subscriber port (ONT) in the range of 1 to 4094.
This is the outer VLAN on the service node interface.
snicvid Enter the Service Node Interface (SNI) CVID setting on subscriber port (ONT) in the range of 1 to
4094. This is the inner VLAN on the service node interface.
nnisvid Enter the NNI SVID setting on subscriber port (ONT) in the range of 1 to 4094. This is the outer
VLAN on the network to network interface.
ontid Enter the ONT ID to be added to the PPPoE IA information (1-128).
ontcardid Enter the ONTCARD ID to be added to the PPPoE IA information (1-16).
uniport Enter the UNIPORT value to be added to the PPPoE IA information (1-128).
ontsn Enter the ONT serial number to be added to the PPPoE IA information (16 HEX characters long).
Apply Click Apply to start or stop the PPPoE client test.
