69.5 MAC Authentication Command Examples
Activate MAC authentication on the OLT and on port GE-5-1.
Set the MAC authentication prefix to MyOLT, the password to MyPassword, and the MAC authentication
time out to 600 seconds.
Display the OLT’s system-wide MAC authentication settings and on a port by port basis with
authentication statistics for each port.
mac-authentication timeout <1-

Specifies the amount of time in seconds before
the OLT allows a client MAC address that fails
authentication to try and authenticate again.
When a client fails MAC authentication, its MAC
address is learned by the MAC address table
with a status of denied. The timeout period you
specify here is the time the MAC address entry
stays in the MAC address table until it is cleared.
If you specify 0 for the timeout value, then this
entry will not be deleted from the MAC address
table.
This settings is superseded by the mac-aging-
time command.
