PIX A signal indicating that the image data is being transmitted.
EOP
(End of Procedure)
A signal sent out by the sending side to notify that the entire docu-
ment has been transmitted.
PRI-EOP or PEOP
(Procedure Interrupt - End of Proce-
dure)
An EOP signal that requires operator intervention.
MPS
(Multi-Page Signal)
A signal sent out by the sending side to notify that one page has
been sent and there are more pages to follow.
PRI-MPS or PMPS
(Procedure Interrupt - Multi-Page Sig-
nal)
An MPS signal that requires operator intervention.
EOM
(End of Message)
A signal sent out by the sending side to notify that one page of the
document has been transmitted and that the subsequent page is to
be transmitted using different parameters (image quality, etc).
PRI-EOM or PEOM
(Procedure Interrupt - End of Mes-
sage)
An EOM signal that requires operator intervention.
MCF
(Message Confirmation)
A signal sent out by the receiving side to notify that the image data
was successfully received and that the receiving side is ready to
receive subsequent image data.
RTP
(Retrain Positive)
A signal sent out by the receiving side to notify that the image data
was successfully received and that modem retraining is required
before receiving subsequent image data.
RTN
(Retrain Negative)
A signal sent out by the receiving side to notify that the image data
was not successfully received and that modem retraining is required
before receiving subsequent image data.
DCN
(Disconnect)
A signal sent out by the sending side to notify that the line is about to
be released.
PPS
(Partial Page Signal)
A signal sent out by the sending side in ECM mode to indicate the
end of one block.
Appears as one of the following depending on the sending side sta-
tus.
PPS.NULL A signal sent out by the sending side in ECM mode to notify that one
of the blocks contained in the current page has been transmitted and
there are more blocks to follow.
PPS.EOP A signal sent out by the sending side in ECM mode to notify that the
entire document has been transmitted.
PPS.PEOP A PPS.EOP signal that requires operator intervention.
PPS.MPS A signal sent out by the sending side in ECM mode to notify that one
page of the document has been transmitted and there are more
pages to follow.
PPS.PMPS A PPS.MPS that requires operator intervention.
PPS.EOM A signal sent out by the sending side in ECM mode to notify that one
page of the document has been transmitted and that the subsequent
page is to be transmitted using different parameters (image quality,
etc).
PPS.PEOM A PPS.EOM signal that requires operator intervention.
PPR
(Partial Page Request)
A signal sent out by the receiving side in ECM mode to request for
retransmission of a block that was not successfully received due to
noise, etc. Contains the frame number (256 bit) of the target frame.
Signal Name Description
