5-4-4 Hard Disk (cont’d)
• E: Drive: Archiving of all images and reports. The partition size is normally 35 GB but this
depends upon the size of the hard disk.
• F: Drive: Swap file partition. The partition size is 1GB.
5-4-5 Fan Control
Two Fans, located inside the cabinet cage assembly, are controlled by the fan speed controller located
on the FAN Board that is connected to the BEP.
Each Fan has 3 wires: two 12V wires that supply power to the fans; a 3rd wire for sensing the fan’s
speed.
5-4-6 Temperature Control
In order to optimize the acoustic noise level, the fans have two operating modes:
• High RPM - when the system temperature is relatively high or after system boot-up (default).
• Low RPM - when the system is in idle mode and system temperature is relatively low.
All Front End temperatures are monitored by the Back End via the RFI.
All measured temperature values are accessible from the SMBus.
5-4-7 RTC Battery
The RTC battery provides power to the ETX real-time clock.
NOTE: The RTC Battery should be replaced every 2 years.
